Thing 2
Well, it looks like Web 2.0 is just a faster way for people to gather and share information. The only problem with this in an educational setting might be lack of support, interest, and equipment. Technology in a school setting is many times outdated and slow. Some students might not have access to a computer or interenet service at home. As for teachers using this it would be another way to collaborate like we do in team meetings. For people who do have access and enjoy learning with computers this is a great tool. This could be helpful to myself in learning about new topics, games, and research.

You're absolutely correct that technology resources (or lack of them) can be one of the biggest obstacles in providing our students access to Web 2.0 tools, but overcomign those obstacles can be one of the most important things we do for this generation.
ReplyDeleteGood point that Web 2.0 is providing teachers with LOTS of professional resources! Many educators have developed an extensive personal learning network online.

I think this type of tool could help students to think differently and learn by sharing or collaborating with other students. If the technology is available this would make it easy and quick for students to interact and learn with other students. They would also be able to be exposed to opinions of other students. This could be used in a classroom so the students could work on an assignment at home or school and collaborated without actually being together.
